I decided late morning that the kids needed a bit of fresh air and there’s nowhere fresher than Porthgwarra on a nice day. Especially when there’s bird to be seen too! The sun was out by the time we arrived in the car park and the girls enjoyed picking Blackberries on the way up to the moor, where I soon located the Dotterel (231) that had been present for the past few days. To say it was obliging was an understatement and the girls were mesmerised by how close it approached!

After half an hour, we decided it was time for lunch so headed back across the moor, only to stumble on a Lapland Bunting (232) on the main path. Again, this bird was incredibly tame, allowing for more decent photos! Two new birds for the girls and the Choughs put in an appearance too!
