So, we’re now in April and I haven’t updated the blog since the beginning of March!! So lets get started………….The first Spring like addition to the year list was a Wheatear at Gwithian on the 17th followed by a Sand Martin there on the 25th. A Common Scoter was also a patch tick at Gwithian. In between times I managed to dip the Smew again at Dozmary pool but was compensated by a Short-eared Owl!! Finally nabbed that one back after missing them five times down west! The 31st was a good day on my Gwithian patch having walked the most easterly points of The Knavocks. A fly past Glaucous Gull was a bonus but best of all was a singing male Dartford Warbler. The same afternoon also saw my first Swallow of the year. So that’s a brief fly through March, few photos below.
